Early Admissions at JKLU: No-risk, Huge-gain

A lot of people would agree that having an admission offer early reduces stress. This allows them to focus on other exams (various admission tests and board exams, etc.) in a much better state of mind and hence they are more likely to succeed. But on the flip side, if they do get an admission offer from a "better" institution later on, it seems that they would have lost a lot of money in the university that offered them early admission. Also is it wise to invest a lot of time in filling up many applications now. Also, most institutions who offer early admission are likely to offer admission in June/July also. So why bother. And would institutions offer early admission without the 12th class marks or is early admission only for students who dropped one year.

First, it is the psychological thing. Even an admission in a Tier 2 institution where you would surely get admission in the summer reduces stress. Having an admission offer in hand is better than 99.999% probability of getting admission a few months later. And I have seen this with my own daughter who was totally stressed out, not performing well in pre-boards, and then one day got an early admission offer and immediately the world changed for her. And she did extremely well in all future tests.

And at least the better institutions (like JKLU) will invariably have a lesser competitive early admissions while the late admissions are more competitive. So it may not be that you are guaranteed admission later.

We at JK Lakshmipat University want to encourage students to seek early admissions in all its programs. We believe that this helps both the students as well as us. So we have created an admission process which is financially risk-free (the entire academic fee will be refunded within two weeks of withdrawal, and there is only a small admission fee), easy to navigate (an online form and all documents can be uploaded online), open to current 12th class students (provisional admission subject to receiving the minimum eligibility marks), and provides very generous scholarships (which will be reduced if you apply late).

To take an example from B.Tech. programs, if you are a student who has about 75% marks in both 10th and 12th (or expecting such marks in 12th), you can get scholarship if you apply now, but not if you apply later. In fact, for anyone who is eligible for our scholarships, if you apply in February, you will get 25% additional scholarship compared with scholarship you will get if you applied in July. This is a gain of Rs. 60,000 in the first year alone, and most students who get scholarship at the time of admission continue with the scholarship in successive years (as this is based on performance). So early admission would mean that if you do end up studying here, you can benefit by a couple of lakhs, and if you don't end up studying here, you will only lose admission fee of Rs. 5,000 (till mid-July, please check website for refund policy).

Even for those students who are taking 12th class exam this year, a provisional early admission would mean that when the scholarship is decided (on production of your 12th class marks), the early admission scheme is applicable to you and hence you will get this more generous scholarship.

On the other hand, if you have marks around 70%, you can almost certainly get admission now (I cannot guarantee here as our admission is based on holistic evaluation of all parameters), but admission in July will be more difficult. We have refused admission to students with such marks in 2022 during July/August timeframe.

You can learn more about our scholarship scheme and how it changes with time on the following page:

So you get not just peace of mind, but also higher scholarships. And for those taking 12th class exam this year, you can lock in the more generous scholarships by seeking provision admission now.
